ITS - Intelligent Transport Systems

The Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Sector is the biggest emerging market internationally. With an increasing traffic problem worldwide and the related pollution there are Journey Time Monitoring Systems and Congestion Charging Schemes popping up all over.

Systems must be able to process hundreds of lanes and the High Definition Fox-HD camera can read two lanes of traffic from a single device reducing installation costs. The long range Fox analog camera can be used on single lane installations.

The rugged roadside Blackbird PC processes the plates and the data must be transmitted to high capacity Back Offices using fibre or alternatively use the Fox-i HD – a High Definition intelligent ALPR camera.

This performs the ALPR processing inside the camera transmitting the results back to base using fibre or the 3G network. This greatly reduces installation costs (no roadside equipment) and reduces bandwidth requirements as only the plate reads and any required associated images are sent.

In confined spaces the small Silverbird can control several cameras transmitting results and GPS data back to a control room.

Software is based around the powerful Jet ALPR Recognition Engine on site – and at the Control Room Jet BOF is a powerful SQL based Back Office Suite.

The Jet JTMS (Journey Time Monitoring System) has a full graphical interface and can display real-time traffic information on the control screen. It can also output data to larger traffic management systems.

Other modules include Traffic Counting and Analysis which displays graphs of traffic flow.
