Jet-JTMS is a modular Journey Time Monitoring System based upon CitySync’s accurate Jet Automatic Licence Plate Recognition Software.
Infra red cameras are located at critical intersections throughout a city or along freeways. These cameras read vehicle license plates in real time of passing traffic. Precise ALPR processing occurs within the camera or at the roadside and the records are constantly sent back to a central JTMS Server which processes this traffic data and creates exact up to the minute journey time data for any series of nodes. This information can then be exported to other traffic management systems.
A straightforward graphical interface permits complicated systems to be created and sustained in a plain and useful way. Maps or schematic images can be utilized as background to the JTMS system view for added simplicity.
Behind the scenes the extremely accurate CitySync ALPR clients feed data through to the JTMS Server which hosts and shows the JTMS calculations. The real time JTMS engine operates very effectively as it constantly tallies License Plates for every vehicle in the system.

Technical Specification
The system receives data feeds from remote JetBase client PCs and Fox-I intelligent ALPR cameras. Links can be through a network, GPRS or 3G.
Max Lanes / Nodes: 1000
Max JetBase Clients: 250
Max lanes per node: 100
JTMS Features
Straightforward easy to use display of average journey times on screen.
Voluntary LED signs can be utilized on roads to display average journey time for 2 different routes giving drivers the ability to make an educated decision prior to reaching severe traffic.
In calculating the average journey time the following parameters are required:
- Distance between the nodes in miles or kilometres
- Vehicle data caching. i.e. if an average journey time is 10 minutes in clear traffic and 30 minutes at peak times then 40-60 minutes worth of date could be utilized for each calculation.
- Frequency of update. i.e. use journey times within the last 5 minutes only for the average displayed.
- Outlier multiplier. If this is fixed at 2.5 then any vehicle taking longer than 2.5 times the average journey time will be excluded from the calculation. This allows us to exclude vehicles that may stop at a restaurant or gas station on route.
