JetCam Bollard

The JetCam Bollard series of cameras provide the best performance for access control systems 24 hours a day in changing lighting and weather conditions. The casing offers a mounting for the ALPR camera at around the same height as front car plates, diminish the problems with line of sight difficulties such as tailgating or queuing traffic.

The cameras are manufactured to operate with the Infra Red retro reflective properties of licence plates. The lighting and filtering technologies used conquer concerns linked with traditional CCTV cameras such as headlight glare.

The bollard needs to be installed on a concrete base with minimum dimensions 400mm x 400mm. The suggested depth of concrete is 350mm with a maximum of 200mm above road surface to provide the best possible camera / licence plate alignment.

The cable ducting or conduit is best positioned in the center of the concrete plinth so the cabling can enter the bollard base section through its central hole. The mains supply is typically run in 20mm SWA cable and coaxial cable is typically in RG11/CT125.

It is suggested that the coaxial cables be terminated into RG59 at both ends. If possible a 5 Amp fused spur would be fixed inside the bollard which should be connected to the mains terminals of the bollard using flexible mains cable. An earth stud is positioned at the top of the lower casing.

The bollard housing comes in three sections to aid installation: the base plate, housing and lid. The housing and base plate are attached with five tamper proof screws.

The base plate has two pre-cut arc slots to help with alignment of the bollard. Two M10 x 11mm anchor bolts secure it in position. The IR ALPR camera is situated in the housing part and is built with a hinged bracket to provide camera tilt if required.
