PRESS RELEASE~ Antwerp Diamond District ~ June 08

CitySync has recently commissioned a significant project for the World Diamond Board in Antwerp. The Antwerp Centre is the most important Trading Centre in the World and where 70% of the world’s cut diamonds come from.

The Automatic Licence Plate Recognition system was installed by CitySync’s integrator partner SIM and is integrated to a Secuscan UVSS (Under Vehicle Scanning System).

The ALPR system checks the plate details against security databases transmitting the plate image and text to the UVSS system where the security guards visually check for any unusual packages on the underside of the vehicle.

All entry and exit points to the Diamond District are monitored by the ALPR System which maintains an event log of all vehicle movements for subsequent search / enquiry purposes.

If a match is made against a security database then an alarm is immediately sent to the Siemens Management System where a security operator will take appropriate action.

Frank Thomson CitySync’s CEO commented:

“We are very pleased to have been chosen as the Technology Provider for this High Security Project in Belgium.

Increasingly, we find that we are chosen not just for our world class plate recognition, but for our ability to deliver mission critical solutions on time.”
