CitySync are pleased to announce the arrival of the new Jet Journey Time Monitoring System.
 

The JTMS software processes two recorded video streams of traffic from cameras positioned several miles apart. The system emulates a TCC display showing live traffic statistics. The JTMS system will be connected to an LED sign which will constantly displays the current average journey time between the two points.

 

 

CitySync Jet JTMS has been developed in response to the urgent need to manage congestion in cities and along major roads giving drivers real time information of problems ahead so that they may avoid it. Statistics from the UK Department of Transport highlight some startling facts about congestion and car usage:

 

The number of registered vehicles has risen from 26 million in 1996 to 33 million in 2005.

 

The distance travelled by vehicles has increased from 440 billion km to 500 billion km.

 

Congestion is predicted to cost the economy around an extra £24 billion by 2025.

 

In 2005 motorists experienced a total delay of 31.3m hours in the worst 10% of journeys.


 

  

Jet JTMS is based around CitySync’s ALPR software and uses infra red cameras to read vehicle number plates. Accurate ALPR processing takes place at the roadside and the data is transmitted back to a central JetStream Server in real time. The JTMS server continuously processes traffic data and can export data to other traffic management systems.
